Matchmaker Matchmaker I’m Willing to Settle! is a four-person ensemble musical based off of MacCallum’s original one-woman cabaret act with the same title, which debuted at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in 2010 and received a MAC nomination. With music and lyrics by Brandon James Gwinn and a book by Nikki MacCallum and Kelvin Moon Loh, Matchmaker…portrays the adventures of NIKKI as she plunges into the matrix of the world wide web to emerge as a guru of Internet Dating. Armed with an antiquated booklet, “Be Your Own Yenta” (passed down from her dear Old Bubbe) the enlisted help of three modern day Cyber Yentas (Match.com Guy, JDate Guy, OKCupid Guy) and a minor run in with Craigslist (we’ve all done it) Nikki unveils a “sure-fire” guide to nab the near impossible – One Good Date! An original musical, Matchmaker promises a night of hilarity with true blind date mishaps that include accidental pornography, impromptu 24-hour trips to Europe and a romantic dinner at Chilis. Throw in a trio of dancing Anthony Rapps, a video chat romance and you’ve got an honest, heartbreakingly uplifting musical guide to internet dating that will delight the single, the not, those wishing they were single again…and everyone in between!
